Latince kelimelerin b\u00fcy\u00fck \u00f6l\u00e7\u00fcde bir kar\u0131\u015f\u0131m\u0131 oldu\u011fu i\u00e7in bizim Yunancadan \u00e7ok daha kolay anlayabildi\u011fimiz Romence bas\u0131lm\u0131\u015f Ulah ve S\u0131rp gazeteleri de var burda. T\u00fcrk kahvecilerinin bilmedi\u011fi \u015fekerli bir\u00a0<em>gloria<\/em> i\u00e7mek i\u00e7in bu kahvehanelerden birine girdim. &#8211; Daha a\u015fa\u011f\u0131larda, Konstantinopolis&#8217;i \u00e7evreleyen k\u0131rsal alanlar\u0131n verimlili\u011finin \u015fahane \u00f6rnekleri olan meyveleri sergileyen pazar yer al\u0131yor. Dolamba\u00e7l\u0131 ve kalabal\u0131k yollardan ge\u00e7ilerek de, nihayet,\u00a0<em>Hali\u00e7<\/em>&#8216;in \u00f6teki taraf\u0131na ge\u00e7mek i\u00e7in bir kay\u0131\u011fa binilmesi gereken limana ula\u015f\u0131l\u0131yor. K\u00fcrek\u00e7iler, ipek b\u00fcr\u00fcmc\u00fckten yap\u0131lm\u0131\u015f uzun kollu ve \u00e7ok afili g\u00f6mlekler giymi\u015f; kay\u0131klar\u0131, bal\u0131k \u015feklinde olmalar\u0131 sayesinde, liman\u0131n giri\u015fini dolduran b\u00fct\u00fcn uluslara ait y\u00fczlerce teknenin aras\u0131ndan g\u00fc\u00e7l\u00fck \u00e7ekmeden s\u00fcz\u00fcl\u00fcp ge\u00e7iyor.<\/p>\n<p>On dakikada, Bal\u0131k Pazar\u0131&#8217;n\u0131n bulundu\u011fu kar\u015f\u0131 taraftaki limana ula\u015f\u0131l\u0131yor ve i\u015fte orada, ola\u011fand\u0131\u015f\u0131 bir manzaran\u0131n tan\u0131\u011f\u0131 olduk. &#8211; Pazar\u0131n dar bir kav\u015fa\u011f\u0131nda, bir\u00e7ok insan \u00e7ember \u015feklinde toplanm\u0131\u015ft\u0131. Bir hokkabazlar \u00e7eki\u015fmesinin ya da ay\u0131 oynatman\u0131n s\u00f6z konusu oldu\u011funu sand\u0131k \u00f6nce. Kalabal\u0131\u011f\u0131 yar\u0131nca, yerde, mavi ceketli ve pantolonlu, boynu vurulmu\u015f birinin cesedini g\u00f6rd\u00fck; kasketli ba\u015f\u0131, biraz aralanm\u0131\u015f bacaklar\u0131n\u0131n aras\u0131na konmu\u015ftu.
