Ama uykusuz gecelerin as\u0131l korkun\u00e7 olanlar\u0131nda, zaman sanki b\u00fcz\u00fc\u015f\u00fcp ufalm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r ve avu\u00e7lar\u0131m\u0131z\u0131n aras\u0131ndan verimsizce kay\u0131p gidiyordur. &#8230; Ama saatlerin bu b\u00fcz\u00fc\u015fmesinin a\u00e7\u0131\u011fa \u00e7\u0131kard\u0131\u011f\u0131 \u015fey, vaadini yerine getirmi\u015f zaman\u0131n tersidir. Zaman\u0131n bu \u015fekilde s\u00fcr\u00fcklenip gitmesi geceyi i\u00e7i bo\u015f bir s\u00fcreme d\u00f6n\u00fc\u015ft\u00fcr\u00fcr. \u0130\u00e7i bo\u015f zaman\u0131n ge\u00e7i\u015fine maruz kal\u0131nca uyumak imk\u00e2ns\u0131z olur.<\/p>\n<p>\u0130\u00e7i bo\u015f s\u00fcrem eklemlenmemi\u015f, y\u00f6netilmemi\u015f zamand\u0131r. Ne anlaml\u0131 bir \u00f6nceye ve sonraya ne de an\u0131lara ve beklentilere yer vard\u0131r bu zamanda. Zaman\u0131n sonsuzlu\u011fu kar\u015f\u0131s\u0131nda, k\u0131sac\u0131k insan ya\u015fam\u0131 bir\u00a0<em>hi\u00e7tir.<\/em> \u00d6l\u00fcm, ya\u015fam\u0131 uygunsuz zamanda sonland\u0131ran bir d\u0131\u015f g\u00fc\u00e7t\u00fcr. \u0130nsan hep vaktinden \u00f6nce, hep uygunsuz bir zamanda \u00f6l\u00fcr. Ya\u015famdan, insan\u0131n ya\u015fam s\u00fcresinden meydana \u00e7\u0131kan bir\u00a0<em>bitim<\/em> olsayd\u0131 bir g\u00fc\u00e7 te\u015fkil etmezdi \u00f6l\u00fcm. \u0130nsan\u0131n ya\u015fam\u0131n\u0131 sonuna kadar ya\u015famas\u0131n\u0131,\u00a0<em>tam zaman\u0131nda<\/em> \u00f6lmesini sa\u011flayacak tek \u015fey budur. Almanca \u00e7eviride &#8220;bonne heure&#8221; neredeyse tamamen ortadan kalkar. Zaman ve mutluluktan \u00e7ok daha kapsaml\u0131 bir s\u00f6zc\u00fck s\u00f6z konusudur oysa (<em>bon-heur<\/em>). \u0130yi zaman anlam\u0131na gelen\u00a0<em>bonne heure<\/em>, uyuman\u0131n m\u00fcmk\u00fcn olmad\u0131\u011f\u0131 k\u00f6t\u00fc sonsuzlu\u011fun, i\u00e7i bo\u015f, yani k\u00f6t\u00fc s\u00fcremin tam z\u0131dd\u0131d\u0131r. Haf\u0131za ve alg\u0131 imgelerinin huzur veren ak\u0131c\u0131 maddesi i\u00e7inde uyuma, r\u00fcya g\u00f6rme ve uyanma aras\u0131nda sal\u0131nma, ge\u00e7mi\u015fle \u015fimdi aras\u0131nda, kat\u0131 bir d\u00fczenle gayriciddi bir karma\u015f\u0131kl\u0131k aras\u0131nda serbest\u00e7e gidip gelme hali sahnelenir. Kahraman\u0131 i\u00e7i bo\u015f bir s\u00fcreme iten bir zaman y\u0131rt\u0131lmas\u0131 s\u00f6z konusu de\u011fildir. Uyuyan ki\u015fi zamanla oynayan, onda gezinen, ona h\u00fckmeden biridir daha \u00e7ok: &#8220;Uyuyan ki\u015fi, saatlerin ak\u0131\u015f\u0131ndan, y\u0131llar\u0131n ve d\u00fcnyalar\u0131n s\u0131ralanmas\u0131ndan olu\u015fan bir halkayla \u00e7evrelenmi\u015ftir.&#8221; (11) Arada bir d\u00fczensizlikler ve irkilmeler de ba\u015f g\u00f6sterir.
