Sebald&#8217;\u0131n\u00a0<em>Sat\u00fcrn&#8217;\u00fcn Halkalar\u0131<\/em> oldu. Sanki gazetenin edit\u00f6rleri bu kitab\u0131, insan\u0131n kan\u0131n\u0131 donduran bir g\u00fczelli\u011fe sahip bi\u00e7emi beni b\u00fcsb\u00fct\u00fcn yere sersin diye se\u00e7mi\u015fti. Bunu biliyordum, bana s\u00f6ylemi\u015flerdi fakat kitab\u0131 okurken ayr\u0131ca do\u011frulam\u0131\u015f oldum: Anlat\u0131c\u0131, sanki hepimiz d\u00fcnyaya \u00e7ift kat cam\u0131n ard\u0131ndan bak\u0131yormu\u015fuzcas\u0131na d\u00fcnyay\u0131 tuhaf ve yapay bir sessizlik i\u00e7inde tasvir ediyordu. Bu anlat\u0131c\u0131 yer yer, &#8220;h\u00e2l\u00e2 ya\u015fayanlar\u0131n diyar\u0131nda m\u0131yd\u0131 yoksa \u00e7oktan ba\u015fka bir \u00e2leme ge\u00e7mi\u015f miydi&#8221; emin olam\u0131yordu. Tanr\u0131m, ne keder ama! Anlat\u0131c\u0131, &#8220;uzun s\u00fcren \u00f6nemli bir \u00e7al\u0131\u015fman\u0131n bitmesinin ard\u0131ndan i\u00e7ini kaplayan bo\u015fluk duygusundan kurtulmak amac\u0131yla&#8221; \u0130ngiltere&#8217;nin do\u011fusundaki Suffolk Kontlu\u011fu&#8217;nu y\u00fcr\u00fcyerek dola\u015f\u0131yordu. Tek t\u00fck evlerle, \u0131ss\u0131z manzaralar ve harabelerle dolu k\u00fc\u00e7\u00fck yerle\u015fim b\u00f6lgelerinde yapt\u0131\u011f\u0131 gezintiler esnas\u0131nda t\u00fcm d\u00fcnyay\u0131 kapsayan bir ge\u00e7mi\u015fin izleriyle kar\u015f\u0131la\u015f\u0131yordu. Sahilde yapt\u0131\u011f\u0131 bu kutsal yolculuk i\u00e7inde ne\u015fe, \u0131\u015f\u0131k ve canl\u0131l\u0131k bar\u0131nd\u0131rm\u0131yordu. \u00d6l\u00fc bir adam i\u00e7in, diyordu sanki anlat\u0131c\u0131, t\u00fcm d\u00fcnya b\u00fcy\u00fck bir cenazeden ibaret.&#8221; (s. 39-40)<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&#8220;Ya\u015fam\u0131m! Okuru d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcnerek, beni daha yak\u0131ndan tan\u0131ma hakk\u0131na sahip oldu\u011funu d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcnerek kaleme alaca\u011f\u0131m k\u0131sa bir s\u00f6zl\u00fc\u011fe indirgenmesi iyi olacakt\u0131r eminim.
